Responsibilities :

Participate in the review of surface and underground coal mining applications

Conduct geologically focused coal mapping and modeling activities to support the review of applications and project surveillance
Perform evaluations of applications for coal resource sterilization or waste
Conduct field inspections of coal mines
Respond to site-specific incidents
Respond to communications from industry and public on coal mining related issues.
Other technical duties as required
 

Qualification :

Bachelor’s Degree in Geology with minimum 4 years of directly related experience
Extensive experience with geologic modeling software systems. Knowledge of the Datamine software package is an asset.
Must be committed to a team approach and be able to work independently within a team environment
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Some travel within the Province will be required.
